There are many things I love about Indian culture, but hands down, one of my favorite aspects is weddings. I am extremely fond of the week-long wedding festivities. I love the overall idea of dressing up, dancing on Bollywood music and indulging in all the cultural ceremonies.
Weddings = Happy times! but there’s one thing that can be tricky which is What to wear? We all know the struggle of having to meet the same group of guests over and over again but not wanting to repeat an outfit, Also, look our best- NO MATTER WHAT.
I’ve found a way to help me overcome this tricky situation and look my best. Keep on reading and do let me know how do you like it towards the end!
Here’s a very fun look that I created keeping in mind the most fun ceremony of all times- THE MEHENDI CEREMONY.
Since the night demands a lot of dancing, binging on snacks, putting on some henna on my palm and having a lot of fun- I always prefer keeping my look simple yet graceful.
Also, the idea of having henna imprinted on my outfit amidst all the madness keeps me hesitant which is why I always make it a point to not wear the newest of my clothes but something I’ve preowned and made the most of previously. Haha! *Clever, Ikr?* but just because I’m wearing something from my wardrobe doesn’t mean I can’t dress it up. Here’s how I styled a basic kurta and revamped it to be wedding appropriate.
I picked up this red kurta and settled my entire look around it since it is a Mehendi look, I wanted it to be bright and peppy just like the mood of the evening. I paired the kurta with these beige palazzo pants that have a very delicate sheen to it. Also not to overlook the intricate embroidery that the kurta has- it’s finely done and looks amazing. The duo together makes up for a very rich and elegant pair.
For accessories, I slipped on a few bangles and added these very delicate earrings.
For my makeup, I created a dewy makeup look, with brown smoky eyes, some winged eyeliner, and peach lips.
Now onto the hero of the look, My hairstyle. I got this very pretty, roses up-do done. Here, I have my crown area – divided into two halves, braided from the front – secured with pins and covered with roses. Looks quite complicated but isn’t!
Also, wore these extremely comfortable kohlapuri slippers to complete my look.
That’s it for this look, I’ll be creating more fun looks around weddings festivities, STAY TUNED!
