SAREE NOT SORRY

CONCEPTUAL EDITORIAL LOOKBOOK

Taking the legacy forward…

A saree is an epitome of grandeur and undying appeal.  It is synonymously referred to as six yards of sheer Elegance.

In every region of India, the manner in which a saree is worn is completely different from the manner in which it is worn in the adjacent states and thus the manner in which a Bengali saree is worn is completely different and is unique in its own way.

Being a Bengali myself, I’ve always had a soft spot for Sarees! I’ve grown up seeing my mother, my grandmother and the other women in the family get all decked up in their sarees for festivities or weddings and trust me as I say this, it’s a completely different charm to see them all together, dressed up in this Bengali version of themselves.

Absorbing the love that runs for Sarees in the family, I thought why not end this year on an emotional note and crate a look for y’all that’s inspired by the women in my family.

To dress up as this perfect bong beauty, I picked up this gorgeous red and white Saree that has this traditional flavor yet a very contemporary vibe to it. I am a huge huge fan of the delicate embroidery on the blouse and I strongly feel that this brocade pallu looks stunning and binds the entire look together.

To complete the look, I wore these jewels from my mother’s cupboard and needless to say, they look magnificent. After all, they are my mom’s and since this look inspired by her, I had to add her personal touch to it.

That’s about it for this blog, Please let me know how do you like this look?

I’ll see you next year! Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone. <3
