Vogue states — In keeping with tradition, Pantone have released the top ten colours for spring 2017, to coincide with various fashion weeks around all over the wide world. Their predictions are usually pretty accurate — a keen eye can spot their list dotted throughout the spring/summer ’17 runways in a mere second — and last year they even hinted at what would be the colour of the year through their spring predictions.
This year, the list is decidedly subdued, featuring plenty of muted, earthy tones, including Kale and Hazelnut, with pops of primary colours like Lapis Blue and Primrose Yellow.
This Rajdeep Ranawat piece proves that feeling blue doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Intended to recall the colors of the ocean, the beachy shade used here embedded with small beads and Swarovski. It took me three days to scout a location and one test shot to fit the creation. This Lapis Blue gown is shot in the most unseen location of Delhi.
If that classic navy blue is not your cup of your tea throughout sunny spring days, yet you are aching for some strong and confident blue, no ifs, ands, or buts here: Lapis Blue is what you are looking for. Being the natural shade of stone lapis lazuli, this blue shade, as if lit up from within, makes another gorgeous spring 2017 color trend.
The collection has been split into multiple themes based on the usage of various motifs and colours and named after the six heritage cities of Rajasthan; that are Kota, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Samode and Jaipur. Rich silk based fabrics, embellished with genuine crystal from Swarovski compliment the design elegance of The Palace and assist each garment in narrating a story of their own, as they mesmerize you into a time where kings, kingdom and a very colorful culture thrived.
