Recently Team TheGreyhalfway was in The city on the banks of the Ganges in Uttar Pradesh Benaras. Flooded with tons of travel pictures on my social media feed when we were in Benaras, mostly on snapchat ( ID : Monalisha25). This city took me all and gave me so much more that words can’t express. I have been planning to visit this place since I had started traveling during my college days, but couldn’t really make it to The spiritual capital of India, it is the holiest of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism and Jainism, and played an important role in the development of Buddhism. ‘Batik’ is the craft that is synonymous to Indonesia and this needed to be interpreted in the form of high resolution prints on silks for the third theme in the same collection. Tye Dye techniques of Shibori were superimposed with motifs derived from the temples and other forms of crafts from Bali to create yet another collection with layered silhouettes perfect for travel or any casual outing. This range is mostly created in soft and fine thread count cotton’s combined with silk organza prints for a formal look with translucency in the casual range itself. Colours like indigo, cobalt, ivory, beige, mustard have been used vigorously to compliment the prints.
